The Ellensburg Downtown Association is proud to present the Blank Canvas Party, taking place Friday, August 15th from 6–9 p.m. at Gallery One (408 N Pearl St). This immersive evening of art, creativity, and community celebration is not only a fundraiser for public murals in downtown Ellensburg, but also a bold next step in the EDA’s vision for long-term downtown beautification.

RAISING FUNDS FOR PUBLIC ART
The Blank Canvas Party is the kickoff event for Ellensburg’s new Mural Society, featuring live artists, a silent auction, a live auction, music, and a catered dinner. Tickets for the event are sold out, highlighting the community’s commitment to public art.
“This is more than just a party, it’s a launching point for something that will shape the look and feel of our community for years to come,” said Teresa Chanes, Executive Director of the Ellensburg Downtown Association. “Our Design Committee’s energy and commitment to this project have been incredible, and we’re excited to invite more partners to the table as we move forward.”
Funds raised through the Blank Canvas Party will directly support downtown mural projects and public art initiatives that create a stronger sense of place, promote community pride, and support local economic vitality.

THE MURAL SOCIETY: WHAT’S NEXT?
The Mural Society originated within the EDA’s Design Committee. This group of dedicated volunteers has spent countless hours fundraising, planning, and executing on mural initiatives in the historic district. The Mural Society will bring together organizations, artists, and passionate community members with a shared commitment to public art and placemaking. Its focus areas will include:
● Leading new mural installations and restorations
● Partnering with the Ellensburg Police Department on a youth graffiti abatement and arts mentorship program
● Exploring new funding opportunities through grants and collaborations
The EDA hopes the Mural Society will continue to grow and eventually include partners like the Ellensburg Rodeo, Central Washington University, the City of Ellensburg, the Ellensburg Police Department, and others who are invested in enhancing the vibrancy and vitality of downtown.
