This year, $12,000 went straight into the hands of eight downtown business owners as part of the Ellensburg Downtown Association's Business Revitalization Fund Program.

This program is organized by the EDA’s Economic Vitality Committee, and seeks to assist downtown businesses with revitalization and beautification projects. Each year, the EDA partners with Umpqua Bank to fund the program, and in the past five years, this program has given over $44,000 to local businesses.

“I’m thrilled to champion a program that’s been fueling downtown business growth for five incredible years,” stated Brooke Knight, EDA Treasurer and Umpqua Bank Community Manager. “It’s a privilege to lead projects that energize our local economy and make a real difference in the community.”

The goal of the Business Revitalization Fund Program is to provide downtown Ellensburg businesses with funds for mid-scale revitalization efforts.

“This program is all about helping our small businesses grow and thrive,” said EDA Executive Director Teresa Chanes. “Even small updates can make a big difference in keeping them vibrant long-term, and we’re so grateful to Umpqua Bank for making it possible.”

BUSINESS REVITALIZATION FUND WINNERS

Buddy's Barkery

This community pet supply shop is working to beautify and maintain a nearby corner plant node. Funds will also go towards upgrading the point of sale system in the shop.

ACRE/The Ridge Encore Event Space

Comedy shows, trivia nights, and special events will feel nice and comfortable, especially after the installation of a new 12.5 ton heat pump. Funds from this program go towards this project.

The Botany Shop

Funds are allocated to install two air conditioning units in the shop, which will benefit both customers and plants.

Pearl Street Books

If you know this local bookstore, you know that its cats are a big part of the charm! Funds from this program will go towards a front screen door, giving these bookstore felines (and the shop) a breath of fresh air.

CompassDirect Healthcare

Curb appeal is critical for downtown businesses, especially one that meets the health needs of so many community members. Funds from this program are going towards landscaping and effective watering systems.

Ellensburg Dance Ensemble

Interior enhancements will soon be underway, including replacing a damaged wall-length mirror that is essential when teaching proper form to young dancers.

Yarn Folk

After moving into the business owner's new building, they needed some display adjustments to fit the new space. Funds from this program are going towards display enhancements.

Ellensburg Floral

After a brand refresh, the floral team needed to update exterior signage. Funds will assist with new decals and entrance signs for this beloved floral shop.
