About The Event

The Ellensburg community is proud to announce the schedule for the upcoming 2024 Juneteenth celebration. This year's event is packed with enriching cultural programming and community engagement opportunities throughout the month of June, culminating in a day of celebration on June 19th.

We gather to celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in 1865. Join us in honoring the African American history, culture, and contributions to our community.

Month-long Activities:

· Kittitas County Historical Museum and Central Washington University Library will host a series of educational and cultural programs focused on Juneteenth and its significance. These events aim to provide deeper insights into the history and enduring impact of this important day.

Juneteenth Day: June 19, 2024

10 AM - 9 PM:

  • Kittitas County Historical Museum will be open to the public, offering historic programming dedicated to Juneteenth. A digital map of Ellensburg will highlight sites of significance to the Black community.

4 PM - 9 PM:

  • Ellensburg Downtown Association (EDA) Night Market begins on Pine Street (concludes at 8pm).
  • Musical performances kick off on the Red Pickle stage

5:30 PM:

  • Juneteenth program featuring local dignitaries and community leaders.

This year's Juneteenth celebration honors the past and embraces the unity and strength of our community. We invite all residents, and visitors alike, to join in the festivities and educational programs.
