Farewell Sophie

My friends – it is with a heavy heart I write to tell you of my last day at the EDA on Wednesday, July 13th. This job has been such a gift because it has helped me make connections with so many of you, something that I will be forever grateful for. I’ll be relocating to Yakima in mid-August for an exciting career move, however, much of my freelance videography/photography business is here in Ellensburg, so I will be in town often. Please feel free to reach out to my freelance business, SW Productions, if you ever need videography/photography services for your business or personally. My cell is (262) 365-1933 and you can always reach me through email at sophieb779@gmail.com I want to give a special thank you to Brenda DeVore, our Executive Director, Kelle Vandenberg, our Board President and Darren Reid, our Board Vice President. The three of you have made me feel so welcome and appreciated. I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done for me. Lastly my friends, and this is the important part, please keep in touch! If you’re ever in Yakima, I’d love to have a meal together! Thank you all for your continued support - I hope to see you soon! With love, Sophie (+Chance)

  • Welcome our new businesses:

  • Fortuity Cellars - Fortuity started making wine in 2017 and began selling in 2018 out of a small incubator in Grandview, Wash.. They source from nine different family-owned vineyards throughout the Yakima Valley AVA. Fortuity is the recipient of the 2019 Rising Startup of the Year and numerous wine awards including Editor’s Choice by Sean Sullivan of Wine Enthusiast, Best in Class from Wine Press Northwest, and Best of the Northwest by Sip Magazine. • Windy Stitches and Stash - A family run quilt shop. They started because there is nothing like the love and warmth of a quilt. They have fabrics for quilting and other uses while also carrying thread and notions such as scissors, needles, rulers, and other quilting needs. They are starting to offer quilting classes and are sponsoring “Quilt Alongs” where our community members can come socialize and work on some of their unfinished projects. They are constantly adding new fabrics and notions each month. They also offer quilt longarming for those that have quilt tops that need to be quilted with backing fabrics and batting. Windy Stitches and Stash is located at 312 N Main St. You can find them on Facebook and Instagram @WindyStitchesandStash

  • Garage Studio Fitness - Their mission is to help you, “Change Your Life With Us.” After spending time in their facility and with their team they want their members to walk out of our doors after a workout and feel like they are a better version of themselves. It isn’t the scientific sum of calories, workouts, and weight that keeps their members returning. It is not the cutting-edge equipment and technology. It is the people that count. Their team cares about guiding and encouraging each and every member to obtain the goals they seek for themselves. Their members’ goals are specific and if they can assist in that journey to realizing their aspirations then they have truly helped them change their life. Garage Studio Fitness is located at 413 N Pine St. You can find them on Facebook and Instagram @garagestudiofitnessllc
