Ellensburg Downtown Association Staff
The
Ellensburg Downtown Association currently has only one staff
member, our Executive Director
Timothy Bishop, CMSM.
Timothy has been involved in Downtown revitalization for nearly twenty years since first becoming involved as a volunteer in 1988 for the Main Street program in Albany, Oregon. Timothy became Baker City, Oregon’s first Downtown manager in 1993. In 1995, he left Baker City to take the position of Executive Director for the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation.
During Timothy’s decade long tenure, Downtown Walla Walla was recognized by the National Trust for historic Preservation as a Great American Main Street in 2001, and in 2002 as one of the Trust’s Dozen Distinctive Destinations. In 2002 Downtown Walla Walla was named Sunset magazines Best Main Street in the West. In 2006 The Walla Walla Main Street program became the first in the nation to be recognized with all four of the National Main Street Center’s Main Street Leadership Awards.
In January of 2000 Timothy graduated from the National Main Street Center’s Institute for Professional Downtown Management.
He has also been a regular presenter and panelist for the Washington State Downtown Revitalization Institute, the Association of Washington Cities, the Washington Chapter of the American Planning Association, and the National Town Meeting on Main Street.
In January of 2002 Timothy was elected to the Board of Directors for the Washington State Trust for Historic Preservation and currently serves as their President
In 2005 Timothy was recognized Washington State Historic Preservation Officer's Award for Career Achievement in Historic Preservation.
Timothy has been the Executive Director for the Ellensburg Downtown Association since August 1st 2006
