Main Street Resource Team Report Lists Recommendations for Ellensburg Downtown Association
As one of the
first benefits as a newly designated
Main Street program, the Ellensburg Downtown Association hosted a Main
Street Resource Team June 5-7. The team's visit included meetings with the
Ellensburg Downtown Association board members and staff, City officials, and
several small group interviews with various stakeholder groups during the 3 day
process.
The Ellensburg Downtown Association also hosted a brief reception for community
members to meet with members of the resource team at the beginning of the
process and a public presentation by the resource team on Thursday June 7th
where the team shared their initial observations and
recommendations for the Ellensburg Downtown Association
The team released their final report earlier this week. The 36 page report
includes a general overview of the current state of downtown and the association,
and an assessment of strengths and opportunities in each of the four Main Street
points of economic restructuring, design, promotion, and organization .
Ellensburg Downtown Association Director, Timothy Bishop is optimistic about the team’s report. “The resource team’s report will be a valuable tool for the EDA as we begin looking at next year’s work plan and prioritizing our efforts.” “The report seems to validate that we are heading in the right direction with our revitalization but it’s also clear that we have a great deal of work still ahead of us”
