Downtown Ellensburg Hosts Main Street Resource Team June 5-7
As one of the first benefits as a newly
designated
Main
Street program, the Ellensburg Downtown Association will be hosting
a Main Street Resource Team next week June 5-7. The focus group visit
will include meetings with the Ellensburg Downtown Association board
members and staff, City officials, and several small group interviews
with various stakeholder groups during the 3 day process.
The Ellensburg Downtown Association will host a brief reception Tuesday
June 5th from 5:30 till 6:30 p.m. at the
Hal
Holmes Community Center (201 N Ruby St ) for community members to
meet with members of the resource team.
At the end of the resource team’s visit there will also be a public
presentation by the resource team Thursday June 7th from 7
till 9 p.m at the Hal Holmes Center where they will share their
conclusions and recommendations for the Ellensburg Downtown Association
The Resource Team will spend much of Tuesday working with Ellensburg
Downtown Association Board members and staff. Wednesday, the team
will spend the day conducting a series of small group interviews and
focus groups to gather information about the current state of Downtown
and potential threats or opportunities.
The team will spend Thursday compiling the information gathered during
their visit and preparing for the evening’s public presentation.
Ellensburg Downtown Association Director,
Timothy Bishop is optimistic about the team’s visit. “As a recently
designated program this is a great opportunity to bring in some outside
expertise to help assess where downtown is and where we as an
organization should be focusing our initial efforts.”
