Ellensburg Downtown Association
To Host Informative "Mornings on Main Street"
The Ellensburg Downtown Association will host
a series of four informative meetings to discuss the
National
Main Street Center's 4-Poin Program and how the Association is using
this revitalization strategy in Ellensburg.
The Ellensburg Downtown Association was accredited as a 2008 National Main
Street Program for meeting the commercial district revitalization
performance standards set by the National Trust Main Street Center® earlier
this month. They join approximately 675 other Main National Main Street
Programs. "We are very excited to be accredited at the national level. Noted
EDA Vice President Mary Young Ness. "The Main Street approach is a
comprehensive strategy and requires a great deal of community partnership
and volunteer efforts in all four of the Main Street points of design,
promotion, economic restructuring, and promotions."
The Ellensburg Downtown Association formed in October 2004 after functioning
as a subcommittee of the Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce for several years.
The association was accepted as a Washington state designated Main Street
Community in March of 2007.
